AAAW's Officers and Advisors are successful, unique individuals in the fields of business, law, medicine, engineering, military service, non – profit / charitable, media, education, and government. They all share a common passion for college football and are dedicated to improving it by replacing the BCS with a fair, inclusive American playoff. Their efforts on behalf of AAAW are voluntary; they receive no compensation. Each Officer / Advisor has listed his / her favorite college football team in his / her biography next to his / her name. These favorite teams are scattered throughout the country, collectively representing 5 different 1 – A / FBS Conferences (and independent, Navy) - SEC, Big – 12, Big – 10, Pac – 10, and MWC - clearly demonstrating the nationwide appeal of this popular movement. President – Michael L. Capener (BYU) – President of a private real estate management and investment company. Conducted international business in 40 countries worldwide and fluent in Spanish. Advisor for the non – profit, charitable organization, Saving African Families Enterprise (SAFE) (www.safeinformation.org). Certified Public Accountant with degrees from BYU / Business Management, Golden Gate University / Master in Accounting, and Harvard University / Master in Business Administration;
Vice President – Don Capener (BYU) – 20 years of sports management and marketing consulting experience working for FCB (New York), Frankel & Company (Chicago / San Francisco), Netcentives (Palo Alto), Above The Rim / Reebok (San Diego), and Capener, Matthews, & Walcher (San Diego, as President). Presently an Associate Professor of Marketing at Monmouth College in Illinois with an undergraduate degree from BYU and Master in Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Fluent in Japanese;
Treasurer – Michael D. Lopez, Esquire (BYU) – Senior Manager / Tax Services at a Big - 4 Public Accounting firm. Former Co – Founder / Chief Financial Officer at Fuse Mobile, Inc. Undergraduate degree from BYU / Business Management, as well as Juris Doctorate from BYU. Fluent in Spanish; and
Secretary – Christopher S. Hill, Esquire (BYU) – Partner and Chair of Hiring Committee at Kirton & McConkie in Salt Lake City. Admitted to practice in California and Utah. Member of his firm's Business Litigation Practice Section with broad experience in civil litigation proceedings in antitrust, real property, business disputes, and insurance coverage disputes. Practiced at Latham & Watkins as member of firm's Antitrust & Unfair Competition Practice Group and Litigation Department. Undergraduate degree from Metropolitan State College / Economics and Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.

Dr. Ed Washington, M. D. (Michigan) – Attending Neuroanesthesiologist at The Barrow Neurological Institute of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center since 1999. Instructor in Neuroanesthesia at University of Michigan Medical Center and Hospitals. Graduate of University of California / San Diego / Biology with Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan Medical School, residency in Anesthesiology at University of Michigan Medical Center and Hospitals, and fellowship in Neuroanesthesia at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Diplomate, American Board of Anesthesiology. Member, Society of Neurosurgical Anesthesia and Critical Care;
Dan Sager (Colorado) – Principal / Owner of Civil Search International, a leading Chandler, Arizona Civil Engineering Recruiting firm with Permanent Placement / Contract Staffing Group Divisions. Senior executive positions with Insight Enterprises (Executive Vice President), Western International Media (Senior Vice President), and Sage – Mark (Founder / President, sold to Microlog). Non – profit service with Arizona YMCA (Board Member), B2P (Consulting Advisor), and Special Olympics (Board Member, Chairman of the Marketing / Fundraising Committee). Peter T. Halpin (Virgina) – Founder / Chief Executive Officer of successful, 25 – year old, global recycler operating in over 30 countries worldwide. Successful real estate developer / investor in Virginia and Wyoming. Served on Governing Boards of Universities and National Public Interest Groups. Graduate of Harvard College / Political Science;
Ron Meldau (South Carolina) – Worked the last 24 years in several areas of Information Technology at IBM and, presently, SCANA Corporation, a Fortune 500 energy company. Fluent in Spanish;
Jeff James (Oregon State) – Founder / President / Designated Broker of the James Group, a Phoenix full – service real estate firm. 18 years experience in residential, commercial, and investment properties. Attended ASU and played tennis in college;
Cole R. Capener, Esquire (Utah) – International lawyer (former partner at Baker & McKenzie International Law Firm / Hong Kong, Beijing, Los Angeles, and Palo Alto offices). Admitted to practice law in New York, California, Utah, and Hong Kong. Adjunct Professor of Law at Tsinghua – Temple Masters of Law Program, Beijing, China / Fudan University International Law Department, Shanghai, China / University of Utah Quinney School of Law, teaching courses in cross – border mergers and acquisitions. Eldon Diamond (Arizona State) – Founder / Owner / President of Diamond Travel, a Phoenix company that has specialized in offering sports travel packages to college football regular season games / bowl games and NFL games for 21 years. Graduate of Arizona State / Marketing;
Scott Cartwright (Oklahoma) – Founder / President of private transportation company serving the Phoenix metropolitan market. Worked for 20 years in several positions with Fortune 500 companies. Played college baseball and is graduate of Washburn University;
Benjamin A. Vande Wiele (Navy) – Studying Computer Networking at Mesa Community College. Navy Seaman / Computer Repair / Networking / Software Troubleshooting;
Steve Selman (Arizona State) - Founder / President of Tickets For Less, a Phoenix firm specializing in providing sports and entertainment tickets. Graduate of Arizona State / Business Management;
Scott M. Theobald, Esquire (Utah) – Founder / President of Theobald Law, Ltd., a Phoenix, Arizona firm specializing in domestic / international corporate transactions (i.e., mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, real estate development and construction, and intellectual property / licensing). Co – Founder of Social Venture Partners Arizona. Colonel (Retired) Donald M. Pantone (Utah) – Retired Colonel in United States Air Force / Civil Engineering Squadron Commander. Worked for 26 years with The Boeing Company on Minuteman ICBM Program. Worked 6 years with Marquardt Aircraft on Bomarc Anti – Aircraft Missile. Board of Directors of Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah / Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum. Creg Hucks (BYU) – Program Manager for the United States Army Corps of Engineers responsible for the $2.2 billion American River Project in Sacramento, California. Previously served as Project Manager overseeing various civil engineering / environmental / water resource projects in Northern California / Los Angeles / Phoenix. Developed and teaches Network Analysis Course. Registered professional engineer (PE) in California, Project Management Professional (PMP) from Project Management Institute, with degrees from BYU / Civil Engineering and Stanford University / Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Fluent in Spanish;
